• Mountains of this area is called "Blue Mountains." When I saw them, actually they are blue. In 2000, Blue Mountains National Park was inscribed as Natural Heritage in UNESCO. Information on Blue Mountains by sign boards of Echo Point is useful.

• Oil particulates of sap of eucallyptus, which grow up on sandstone base rocks in this area, float in the air and reflect sun light, let mountains look blue.

• Blue Mountains is 100 km far from Sydney. Bus tour is possible but train was interesting. Train starts in Sydney Central Station as suburban train. Destination is Katoomba station. Train starts once an hour. Rode on 10:02 train and took 2 hours for 100 km by train. Train goes slowly by speed of 50 km/h probably because of ascending. Towns in between are small and Katoomba is relatively big.
