• Hamamatsu castle was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa. He is a founder of 300-year the Edo Shogunate. He lived there for 17 years entering a castle at 29-year-old in 1570, and until moving to the Sunpu castle in Shizuoka City at the age of 45 in 1586. There were 25 castellans in 260 years of Hamamatsu clan. There were 5 highest ministers, 2 castellans of Osaka castle, 2 Highest administrator of Kyoto and 4 chief magistrate's officer. Therefore Hamamatsu castle is called "Castle of promotion."

• Hamamatsu castle tower is in the Hamamatsu castle park, and five minutes by taxi from Hamamatsu Station. I walked fifteen minutes. Bus is also available frequently.

• It opens all the year excluding end of the year, and entrance to the castle tower is 8:30-16:30. The admission fee is 150 yen.
