• Yuyuan of Shanghai was visited again in August, 2005. It was possible to pore over it because there was enough time. Yuyuan has two area, one is shopping district such as handicrafts which is called merchant zone, and the other is Yuyuan garden.

• The shopping zone is covered with a lot of people. But live area is limited unexpectedly and when it goes out of the zone a little, a lively business zone becomes the district of a quiet commonplace.

• Yuyuan Garden was built by a Ming official of Suchuan State named Pan Yunduan for his parents. It was constructed in Ming dynasty from 1559 and completed in 1577 spending 18-year. The garden suffered extensive damage in the 19th century but was repaired by the Shanghai government from 1956-1961.

• Before entering the garden, there are a tea room called Huxin Ting Teahouse and Lubolang or Green Wave Hall Restaurant on the pond.

• The garden of 20,000‡u is devised so that different scenery may come out when walking just 1m. Moreover, Yuyuan is famous for the precious stones of ancient times such as 2,000 tons of stones that was known as emperor Song of Song Dynasty 800 years ago collected. Five dragons live in the garden. They are composed of head from cow, horn from deer, mouth of horse, fingernail of hawk, body of snake and scale of fish.

All shops of Yuyuan Market are bright.	Yuyuan Market is occupied with a lot of people.	There are a variety of lion images.	Huxinting or Mid-Lake pavilion Teahouse from the entrance of Yuyuan Market side.
Jiuquqiao or Nine-turn Bridge brings different scenery on every turnings.	Huxinting Teahouse on the Lotus Pool.	The Pool is next to the garden.	The lotus flower is in blossom.
The other side is Yuyuan entrance.	The white statue is reflected in the pond.	Left Huxinting Teahouse and right Lubolang restaurant.	Huxinting Teahouse was re-built in 1784.

Sansuitang Hall : It was rebuilt in Qing Dynasty (1760 A.D.). The name of the hall, Sansui, means bumper harvest.			Iron lion statues next to Sansuitang Hall.
Lions were made in Yuan Dynasty.	Yangshantang Hall or Hall of Rising Mountain is just next to Sansuitang Hall.	Yangshantang Hall was built in 1866.	Dagiashang or Giant Artificial Hill is composed of 2,000 tons of stones.
Jiushixuan or Nine Lions House is in the pond.			Jiushuixuan House through the wall.
Sceneries are different before and after the round wall.	Wanhualou or Ten Thousand-Flower Pavilion was re-built in 1843.		Precious stones were used for the garden.
Longbi or Dragon Wall goes around.	Hexutang or Calm Warm Hall has furniture of more than 200-year old, made by tropical trees called "Gajyumaru".		Dragons on the gate of west of Hexutang Hall.
Two dragons are fighting to get the big pearl ball on the gate.		Round shape passage between Hexutang and Yuhuatang Hall	Deyuelou or Full Moon Pavilion faces Lotus Pool.
Scenery around Deyuelou Pavilion is open.	Hall of Jade Magnificence is typical architectural style of Qing Dynasty. It is decorated with its gorgeous embellishments which is made of high grade nanmu, a kind of precious wood imported from Burma. It is noted for its delicate carvings on the beams and windows.
Front of HAN BI TOWER or Hall of Jade Magnificence.	Yi Fang Boat	Scenery completely differs between the wall.	Hall of Jade Magnificence and the long corridor.
Yuhuatang or Ball Glory Hall is said to be the study room of Pan Yunduan.		Small stage, Dachang or Singing Stage.	Before the long corridor is pond and over it, artificial mountain.
Yuelian or Clear Moon Gate separates with the pond before.	He Xu Hall faces the hill with the running stream on its back, making it cool in summer and warm in winter.	Hall of Heralding Spring is famous for being the headquarters of the anti-imperialist "Little Sword Society", who in 1853 led an uprising against Qing rule and occupied Shanghai for 17 months.
Yule or Fish Easy Tree Garden has atmosphere of miniature garden.	There also is bamboo grove.	Ten Thousand-Flower Pavilion is over the pond.	Go out from the corridor.
