• Bruges is in the Belgian northwest. It is a city of water that is called "Venice in the north." It prospered in medieval times as a Hanseatic center, and the great age was built in the 15th century. The port afterwards was buried with sand and it has declined rapidly. Therefore, the town is preserved as it is at that time like the live museum of Frandol in the Middle Ages. The canal was made within a circle of 1km diameter as if a river around a delta if referring to the map. The inside was not destroyed because of a rapid decline after the 15th century and then later in 19th century, British found the town from the viewpoint of sightseeing and it revived the town. The process is imaginable The expression, "Town itself is the Museum without ceiling" is understandable as the entire old town is assigned for the World Heritage.

• Bruges is specified for three World Heritage. One is a Begin association monastery specified in 1998. The second is a belfry of 1999. The third is an old town district. 30 belfries were specified in whole Belgium. Flanders area is 24 and Wallon 6.
