• Mt. Agung is 3142 m altitude and the highest mountain in Bali. It is blessed as the holy mountain. Mt. Agung is active volcano. It blew in 1350 and February 19, 1963. By the pyroclastic flow of the explosion, 1,500 were dead and 8,500 people lost their houses. However only Besakih Temple were not flooded. One third of agricultural land were destroyed. Agung means "great." Bali rotates as a center of Agung, shrine of each houses directs at Agung and people sleep with head directed to Agung and also senior people sit Agung side.
