• It is told that the Kitain Temple has started from that Buddhist monk Jikaku saint opened so called the Immeasurable Temple in the year 830. Monk Sonkai revived the Immeasurable Temple in 1296, which enshrines the monk Jie. After high priest Tenkai who obtains Ieyasu Tokugawa's trust becomes a priest of a Buddhist temple, having become a Kitain Temple in 1612. It is 1638 burnt down ..almost of the Kitain Temple.. by the Kawagoe conflagration. Third Brigadier General Iemits removed the Guest House and study, etc. from the Edo Castle (Imperial Palace), and rebuilt in several years. It consequentially escapes burnt down by the conflagration of Edo, and a part of the Edo castle remains as the only relic. The room where General Iemitsu born and the Kasuganotsubone make-up room remain in the guest house and study, too.

• In the year 2004, it was opened free to the public on July 17 for the anniversary of 400-year memorial of the General Iemitsu birth. It cannot be taken a internal picture because of the picture interdiction though there are valuable things of 400 years ago in such as study, etc.

It enters and 25 immediate Buddha's disciples statues are put on one plinth.		22 Buddha's disciples statues following it. 538 statues in all. Everything differs.
